A Time To Sing!
A musical artist, Colleen Morrison is a powerful performer and a gifted singer. Born and raised in the Canadian Prairies, Colleen enjoyed local success in the musical theatres of Winnipeg before beginning her classical training at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto. At the Conservatory, her musical skill and talent was recognized with scholarships and awards. While studying Opera and the classic languages, she performed 3 seasons with the local Opera company.
After much exploration and experimentation, Colleen tuned her voice to the rich world of Jazz, and popular music. She has enjoyed the opportunity of performing in New York City's trendy Greenwich Village area in addition to many local performances in Toronto. The Internet has also opened doors as Colleen performed as the featured guest artist on a live webcast radio show originating in the Hayes Valley artist's enclave in San Francisco. If you were in Toronto during the fall of 2001 you may have caught a set while she was performing a three month-long gig at a Church Street hotspot with her piano man, Rick. Colleen and Rick performed together for over three years and compiled a seven song CD.
In February 2006, Colleen along with Gig One went to Havana Cuba to perform at various venues, towns and jazz clubs. It was a smashing success!
Colleen has started her own jazz quartet that has kept her busy since its inception.
